The department has taken numerous steps to conserve energy. We have virtualized most servers to Hyper-V/Vmware reducing the total number of servers to 25% or less. Our new teaching lab Room 2120 consists completely of laptops which consume nearly 50% less power as required by desktops, producing less heat and require fewer resources for room cooling.
